Summary

Hansel and Gretel are two children who are abondoned in the forest by their

father because he doesn’t earn enough money to look after his children. The

children can’t find their way home, but arrive at a house made of cake and

chocolate. However, this house belongs to an ugly witch who wants to eat

the children. The children are clever enough to kill the witch and escape with

her treasure. They find their way home with the help of a stork. They are

welcomed at home joyfully by their parents, who regret losing their children
